The latest IMO regulations compel the shipping industry to significantly reduce its Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from the start of 2020, which in turn has led to a major increase in the cost of compliant fuels.

These latest regulatory requirements continue to fuel the digital revolution within the industry facilitating the transition to a greener future.

Following the successful SPRINT project award, Theyr ltd and University of Southampton (UoS) have combined resources within the strategic SPRINT partnership to push the boundaries of vessel routing.

The collaboration is developing a Genetic Algorithm (GA) routing module that is capable of utilising the highest fidelity MetOcean (weather and ocean) data to create the most efficient routes.

The resulting modular application will be initially available for third party integration.

Rapid Data Access Service (RDAS)

Provides Met-Ocean data for Maritime / Fleet products.

  • ~10,000 data points per second;
  • Each data point provides multiple parameters;
  • For near real-time retrieval of Met-Ocean data for a given global latitude/longitude and time range;
  • Forecast and hindcast data;
  • Any coordinate may be specified with the request and RDAS provides the exact Met-Ocean parameter values for that location.

Global Data Sets

Theyr provides industry leading and industry standard Global Met-Ocean forecast and hindcast data sets.

Our scientists produce high-resolution weather models in-house and select the best performing meteorological and oceanographic third-party datasets from official and academic sources in order to provide the most accurate data in the industry.

Our industry-leading data platform is built to manage large scale, complex meteorological and oceanographic datasets.

Web services are built in our cloud environment, built-in redundancy and multi-location hosting ensures that our customers experience superfast and reliable service with no downtime.

Data can be provided in a number of formats and seamlessly integrated with third party applications in order to meet your specific needs

Web Mapping Service (WMS)

A relatively simple WMS/Web-API producing on-the-fly image overlays for the exact area you require for each request. Producing a nice animation rate with lots of functionality and forecast parameters.

This is the chosen application for many of our marine navigation partners due to the simple integration and highly visual and customisable nature of the API.

For example, our own Pro2 interfaces with the Google Maps API and the Navionics API. However, any suitably enabled web-based maps can be enabled with our overlays.

We provide clear documentation for you to enable your map interfaces with on-the-fly weather and ocean data animated overlays.

Meteograms/Pin data points can be generated for any map point.

Our data overlays are produced by our web server engine that creates an exact match for the client-side area and parameter request.
